The villa Lumières town hall

Evian Town Hall since 1927, this villa which was left unfinished when its the first owner died in 1887, was acquired in 1896 as a summer residence by the photographer Antoine Lumière, a descendant of a rich industrialist from Lyon. New plan were drawn up by the architectural firm Chevalier of Geneva. Antoine Lumière asked the Genevan architect Paul Pélissier to decorate the building. The neoclassical façade is fronted by a large balustered terrace.

The Theatre (1883/1885)

The theatre was commissioned by Evian town Council 10 1883, the architect, Louis Clerc was a student of Charles Garnier (the Paris Opera project manager) it was opened in the time for the 1885 season. Neoclassical style façade, ponctuated by fluted columns is topped by a cornice with lion’s figures.

The Evian funicular

From 1907, the funicular carried patients from the grand hotels to the thermal spa.

The Palais Lumière

Thermal Spa built between 1900 and 1902, today is a library and conference and cultural center.

The Cachat spring

Saint Catherine Fountain is the most famous of the many natural sources in Evian.

Evian Notre Dame de l’Assomption

church Built during the 13th century, under the reign of Peter II, typic  Savoyard Gothic art.
